About Me

My photo
Diana Silverman
New York, New York, United States
I love finding new songs and images for my students in teaching college Italian. My arts-based Italian language text book is called Luminoso: Learning Italian with Cultural Stars (2021), an expanded edition of my book, Stellare: Learning Italian with Cultural Stars (2015); all the books' profits are assigned to fund free medical care for survivors of war and poverty through the Italian nonprofit called EMERGENCY. My research interests are in Italian women's history, and I have published an article about an illustrious resident of Dante's Paradise, Cunizza da Romano, as portrayed in medieval historical chronicles.
